One of the key features of this lawn mower is the versatile cutting mechanism. You can switch between three different lawn-mowing modes: basic cutting, catching, and mulching. The latter allows you to cut the grass and recycle it by feeding it back to the ground. By discharging the grass clippings on the side and spreading it evenly, the Smartchute® technology makes the mulching process even more efficient. The lawn mower is powered by a 190cc Briggs & Stratton engine, and thanks to the Ready Start® technology, the starting process does not require you to prime it. Another welcomed feature is the “full” indicator on the control panel, which lets you know when the catcher is full.
When it comes to the potential downsides of the Masport President 3000, the bearing wheels stick out like a sore thumb. If you have a level yard with little to no obstacles, you will get away with the occasional adjustment, but if the terrain is uneven, the wheels might literally fall off after a while. The bearings on this model are simply not strong enough, and with wear and tear, they can produce a problem relatively quickly. This may also lead to chassis issues, but with frequent wheel adjustments, you can probably avoid them.
