McCulloch are a reputable name when it comes to power tools, but like Skoda in the car world their reputation hasn’t always been so rosy. This machine seems like pretty safe evidence that this reputation isn’t fairly justified.
On first glance this beast immediately looks as though it means business, with large moulded wheels and tyres so gripped they look as though you could grate cheese on them if you wanted to, this mower is designed for every type of terrain and both wet and dry grass.
If every type of environment is catered for, then so too is every type of cut and collection, a range of cutting heights between 30 and 90 mm makes this mower particularly suited to long and rough areas of grass, and you can either side eject, collect, or mulch depending on your preference. Designed for endurance, this mower will tackle large areas, and it’s 65 litre grass collection box will keep those trips to the compost heap to the bare minimum.
At 40kg this is a hefty piece of kit, and thankfully it features self propulsion to save you the back-breaking task of pushing it around. Even better still, the speed is variable, so you can adjust it to suit your natural walking pace. Some mowers are less accomodating and will have you running around the lawn chasing after them if you’re not careful!

Conclusion
This is a sturdy machine, and it’ll certainly cut the lawn without any trouble. Whether it’s the best of its kind is disputable though, we think that for the money other manufacturers such as Honda and Einhell offer superior alternatives to McCulloch petrol lawn mowers, with more efficient engines and other high performance features.
