Bosch Rotak 32 LI Ergoflex Cordless Lawn Mower Review

Bosch designs and manufactures a wide variety of high-quality lawnmowers that receive positive reviews. However, the Bosch Rotak 32 LI Ergoflex Cordless Lawn Mower appears to be an exception to the high quality rule. Although this mower offers many user-friendly features, a few drawbacks make purchasing this a risky move, especially for homeowners who need to finely manicure large gardens.

The cordless and lightweight design of the Bosch Rotak 32 LI Ergoflex Cordless Lawn Mower makes it ideal for homeowners who mow small to medium size gardens. Lightweight materials comprise the frame of the lawn mower, which enhances mobility, but not the durability of the lawn mower. Several users have complained about the frame receiving dents and scratches caused by impacts made from small objects. On the plus side the innovatively designed 36-volt lithium-ion battery powers the lawn mower for extended periods, without you having to take time to recharge the battery.

Ergoflex, multiple function handles provide supreme comfort for users that want to limit the pressure placed on back and shoulder muscles. The lawn mower requires little effort to control, which is a nice change from lawn mowers that pull your hands and arms. Bosch has attached a 32-centimetre steel cutting blade that efficiently cuts gardens that measure up to 150 square metres. The 32-litre grass collection box is smaller than the average grass collection box, which means you can expect to spend more time that you want emptying the grass collection box. Adjustable blade heights between 30 and 70 millimetres make the lawn mower more of a niche lawn mower than an all-purpose lawn mower.

The lowest cutting height of 30 millimetres simply does not pass the inspection test for homeowners who want to cut grass short. This covers a vast majority of homeowners, since 30 millimetres represents a medium height setting. Why Bosch decided to limit the cutting height is beyond us. Moreover, many consumers mention the limited lifespan of the lawn mower, claiming it works great at first, but it eventually declines in performance over a period of less than one year in some cases.

Pros

  • Cordless means more mobility
  • Powerful 36-volt lithium-ion battery
  • Offers comfortable to operate handles

Cons

  • Easy to damage frame
  • Smaller than average grass collection box
  • Does not cut grass to short lengths

Conclusion

At best, the Bosch Rotak 32 LI Ergoflex Cordless Lawn Mower is a “flip a coin” buying decision. At worst, we recommend that consumers consider other lawn mower models. When you set a minimum cutting height of 30 millimetres, you immediately lose the prospect of attracting more than half of UK homeowners.
