If records stand up to scrutiny then it’s fair to say that this summer could be one of the hottest in recent years, certainly if the last few days have been anything to go by then this seems highly likely!
It’s around this time of year that many of us will think about getting our gardens in shape, not forgetting of course the all-important centre piece, the lawn. This might mean dusting off the mower and getting it ready to use after a year sat in the garage, buying a new one if the last one finally gave up the ghost after years of use, or it could mean buying one for the first time if you’ve recently taken your first steps on the property ladder or been lucky enough to move into a home with a garden. Of course having the right mower is only half the battle, the will to succeed in having a great looking lawn is just as important, as is making sure that your lawn is healthy, which of course at this time of year means keeping it well watered. Certain grass types in particular won’t have great resilience to the kind of heat we’re experiencing currently so it’s especially important to have a strict watering schedule if your lawn is made up of such grass.
Above all having a great looking lawn is something to be proud of, and if you’ve spent many long hours getting it to look great then stepping back to admire your handy work will feel all the more worth it.
